Why do acne on the face appear?

Traitorous pimples can occur not only during adolescence, but also at a more mature age. Relatively recently, constantly appearing black and white dots have even received the official status of a disease called “acne”, or “acne”.

Now this is not just a slight cosmetic defect that spoils the mood of suspicious ladies, no. The attitude towards them was revised. It is very important for us to understand and eliminate the cause so as not to get complications and to stop the pathological process, which tends to close in a vicious circle.

What is a pimple?

This is inflammation that occurs when the pores are blocked by sebaceous secretions. Ideally, our skin constantly secretes oil. It has a useful function of a protective layer, protecting it from drying out, ultraviolet radiation, exposure to cold and wind. It is oily skin that is considered the type that can delay the appearance of wrinkles for a long time. With outflow disturbances for various reasons, blockage occurs.

Acne. The causes of acne

It can be compared to a sudden dam that stopped a stream. Gradually, water accumulates until it breaks through the barrier and returns to normal. Bacteria accumulate inside the blocked pore, a focus of infection appears. The body recognizes the enemy and launches a defense mechanism, collecting slender rows of lymphocytes around the pimple. Immunity soldiers begin to fight the enemy, but outwardly we see suppuration and a red border.

That is why doctors do not recommend pressing and touching acne. We disrupt the natural course of the process by introducing additional infection through dirty hands. Purulent inflammations are dangerous because with inept squeezing, bacteria spread through the blood and lymph throughout the body. As a result, instead of one pimple, we get 5-6 pieces of additional “clusters”.

The etiology is carefully studied by dermatologists in order to correctly understand the cause and remove the very source of constant relapses.

The reasons include a rather long list:

  • improper diet, the predominance of flour, fatty, sweet and spicy foods;
  • stress, overstrain, insomnia;
  • heredity;
  • excess sebum production;
  • menstrual cycle, hormonal features;
  • violation of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • neglect of hygiene rules;
  • passion for cosmetics, improper removal;
  • climate impact;
  • an increased desire for cleanliness (paradoxically);
  • Some medications have side effects such as unsightly skin rashes
  • impaired immune defense.

Let’s talk about the most common causes and analyze prevention in order to forget forever about skin defects that can ruin any moment of life.

We are what we eat. This rule has not been canceled. Many health problems begin precisely with non-observance of the diet, overeating and passion for fast food . You need to start the fight against acne with dietary changes. Feel free to cross out cakes and fried pies and switch to fruits, vegetables, boiled meat and other healthy products. Instead of chips, snack on dried fruits or nuts!

Facial skin care (hygiene)

Do not forget to wash your face and use special cleansers, which we choose based on your skin type. Most often, initially oily skin suffers from acne, but there is a danger of drying out, so for it you need to choose not only cleansing, but also moisturizing.

Makeup brushes must be kept clean, and it is strictly forbidden to touch your face with your hands! This rule helps not to bring dirt into the pores, you should not give bacteria a reason to settle and create a focus of inflammation.

Hormonal imbalance

Most often it manifests itself during the transition period and it is associated with an excess of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone , which are enough in the male and female body. Male hormones stimulate increased sebum secretion, and in this case, they help well on the basis of zinc, salicylic acid and clay.

Various diseases

More often acne occurs in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which are accompanied by microflora disorders. With imbalances in the numerical composition of beneficial and harmful bacteria, all problems creep out on the skin in the form of pimples. Toxins accumulate in the body, causing inflammation.

Stress factor

Skin problems often arise during the exciting moments of life. The stress hormone cortisol triggers fat secretion and clogging of pores. This also includes lack of sleep, as it is also stressful for a person, leading not only to acne!

Heat, high humidity, stuffiness provoke the secretion of sebum. It mixes with cosmetics and leads to disastrous consequences for the appearance.

Where do acne occur most often?

There is a theory that localization speaks of violations in certain areas of the body, but it is rather controversial, and has not been confirmed by dermatologists.

Therefore, let’s designate the most favorite places of appearance:

  • forehead;
  • nose;
  • the chin.

They are an accumulation of sweat and sebaceous glands, therefore they are at risk. The more manifestations, the more severe the degree of acne. Do not self-medicate for a long time, it is better to consult a dermatologist, change your diet and revise your lifestyle.

General recommendations for prevention

There are a number of tips that work for most acne cases:

  • Thoroughly remove dirt, makeup and excess sebum.
  • Do not wash with soap, but with cleansing gels or foams.
  • Make a clay-based mask once a week, it helps to remove even the deepest pore impurities.
  • Be sure to choose additional moisturizers, otherwise you can get dehydrated skin with even greater problems.
  • Defects must be masked by specially designed correctors. Regular powder or foundation leads to increased inflammation. With a severe course of acne, you will need a complete rejection of cosmetics!
