Effective acne treatment

Acne rash – what is it? If you are asking this question, then you are unlikely to have encountered the problem to the fullest. As a rule, patients suffering from such an ailment already well determine what is happening to them.

Acne or acne is a common problem, which is a serious inflammatory change in the skin. They are also called pimples or acne. Most people face such a problem once in a lifetime – for example, at a transitional age, when due to surges in hormones, the skin produces an undesirable reaction. But acne also occurs in adults.

How does acne appear

It’s hard to confuse it with something else. Common variants of acne are either modified sebaceous plugs in the form of black deposits that clog pores, or pustular formations.

It’s important to know! Self-removal of blackheads and pimples is an extremely dangerous undertaking. Very often, after this procedure, serious complications begin: from even greater inflammation and active growth of acne to sepsis, which threatens with death (and these are not empty threats).

Acne is most often localized on the face, it also occurs on the shoulders, upper back, chest. Usually they say that this is a chronic disease: but it becomes chronic when, after the first manifestation of the problem, the person did not receive proper help.

Types of acne

There are several classifications that describe the types of acne.

By age, acne is distinguished in adolescents and adults. In the latter, the problem is called late. Teenagers usually suffer from the fact that acne appears on the forehead, in the temporal part, while in adults they are often located differently: in the lower part of the face.

Speaking about what acne is like, let’s highlight the options for the form, features of the development of acne:

  • Comedones – open and closed. The first are represented by a cluster of black dots, which are formed due to clogging of pores with sebum. Although the mouth of such a comedone is closed, it is not washed out with ordinary washing or wiping the face with a sponge – such a formation can be removed only with a certain effort. Closed comedones look like white balls. The essence is the same: pore blockage, but only at a deeper level. As long as bacteria do not develop in comedones , they do not physically disturb the patient – they do not hurt, do not cause other unpleasant sensations.
  • Papule . This is an already inflamed pimple – as a rule, it is red and painful, but it can also acquire a bluish color.
  • Pustule . The same as the papule, but with a purulent formation, which is seen through the upper layer of the skin – a white dot.
  • Nodular cystic acne . These are pustules that are collected in foci, interconnected and very actively developing. This pathology is associated with severe tissue damage and requires immediate professional treatment.
  • Lightning acne . Of all the presented forms, this one is the most difficult, because it can affect not only soft tissues – if the pathology is not treated, bones suffer, changes in the blood occur, and many other dangerous consequences.

Distinguish acne in adults, adolescents and children also by degrees. There are three of them: the first degree implies a problem in only one part of the face without very severe inflammation, and the second and third, after high-quality treatment, already threaten the appearance of scars and pits. This is a weighty argument in favor of not waiting until a problem develops into a more serious stage when a problem appears, but immediately seek help from a dermatologist.

Causes of acne

One of the most common causes of acne is hormonal changes. Therefore, adolescents, fertile women at certain periods of the cycle, and also athletes taking steroids suffer from them. Acne is also caused by certain diseases (both skin and other organs), contact with an aggressive environment – chemicals, low-quality cosmetics, etc.

Good to know! Determining the cause of acne is the basis of treatment. If the problem is in hormones, giving up sweets, milk and any other tips from the Internet will not help. Moreover, we warn against buying serums and other products that are now actively advertised on social networks – most of them are dangerous!

How acne is treated: expert advice

Acne treatment begins with anamnesis, examination and tests. It is simply impossible to prescribe an effective program “by eye” – a good doctor carefully examines the patient and only after that draws up an individual treatment program.

To get rid of using non-hormonal ointments, diet (strictly individually), acupuncture and other proven methods. An important point is to work with a psychologist, because a depressed state from the presence of acne only worsens the situation on the psycho-emotional level, and a vicious circle is formed.

The use of non-hormonal ointments is one of the important points that professionals insist on. Hormone addiction, which is bound to happen, makes all the efforts associated with treatment useless, because over time the disease will return. Moreover, hormones can have a bad effect on the state of the whole organism – this is a very big risk.
