Oily skin – look, care, advice and common mistakes

Oily skin always gives women a lot of trouble, acne and blackheads often appear on it, it is covered with a film of fat and is poorly supplied with blood, most often this type of skin occurs in young girls during puberty, but about 10% of adult women also suffer from active work sebaceous glands.

Causes of oily skin The
sebaceous glands of this type of skin work more intensely than usual and secrete a lot of sebum. The hormonal system, namely the male hormones testosterone, should be blamed for this. They activate the sebaceous glands. The outer, stratum corneum of oily skin is also thicker. The pores of the skin are “clogged” with plugs, and the sebum does not come out. As a result, acne and blackheads appear on the surface. Oily skin is always more inflamed.

The only consolation is that oily skin stays young longer. Sebum covers the skin with a natural protective film that protects it from the harmful effects of the environment. In women with oily skin, wrinkles appear much later than in others.

What We Do Wrong When We Have Oily Skin
Mistake # 1: Cleansing Products Too Strong

Many women try to “defat” their skin with “strong” cleansers, but the exact opposite is true. Clinical studies show that in such situations, the skin tries to restore the fat deficit, produces more sebum and becomes covered with an even thicker layer of fat faster.

Council. Use mild cleansers, but use them often. If time permits, cleanse your skin three times a day. For any employment, oily skin must be cleaned in the morning and evening. To do this, take a lotion or biogel designed specifically for oily, inflamed skin. They contain antibacterial agents that prevent pore clogging and inflammation.

Mistake # 2: constantly popping pimples and blackheads

Pimples are tiny plugs of sebum and dead skin cells that block the exit from the pores and prevent the sebum from coming to the surface. As soon as pimples become inflamed, acne appears in their place. Many succumb to the urge to squeeze them out. Dermatologists claim that over 80% of all women with acne do this on a daily basis. This is a very bad habit, as a result of which a serious inflammatory process can begin from a small pimple.

Council. You can squeeze out acne, but not more often than once a week. The main thing is to prepare correctly. The skin must be thoroughly cleaned and within 5 minutes “softened” with a steam bath (for it, brew a handful of chamomile in two liters of boiling water). Then wrap a cosmetic tissue around your finger and squeeze the comedone out of the sebum without firm pressure. Then, to disinfect the inflamed area, moisten the inflamed area with eau de toilette containing alcohol.

Mistake # 3: worrying about prejudice

The most incredible things can be heard about the causes of acne and acne. Sometimes chocolate is to blame, sometimes sexual promiscuity or lack of hygiene. All these statements are absolutely unfounded. This silly chatter only leads to unnecessary worries, and mental stress can really negatively affect the skin condition.

Council. Try to just ignore such conversations. If you are unsure of anything, talk to your doctor. How to properly care for oily skin with coarse pores, in particular about tea treatment. (*)

Mistake # 4: Choosing the wrong medication

Some medications cause acne breakouts. For example, medicines with a high content of iodine or vitamin B.

Council. Check if you have been taking medications containing these substances for a long time. If they are not listed on the package, check with your pharmacy. When your medications are prescribed, ask your doctor about their effect on your skin.

Mistake # 5: frequent exfoliation

Regular exfoliation – that is, removing dead skin cells with exfoliating creams – is very beneficial for oily and inflamed skin. Thanks to him, keratinized cells that clog pores disappear. It’s bad when women do it too much. According to the saying “They knock out a wedge with a wedge”, some carry out peeling daily. As a result, they get the opposite result. The skin increases sebum production and becomes even more oily than before.

Council. Exfoliate no more than three times a week. After cleansing the skin, the exfoliating cream is rubbed in with gentle circular movements. On dry and not on wet skin, its effect will be more intense. Never use these creams if you have inflamed acne. The tiny “grinding” grains contained in the cream irritate the inflamed areas and slow down the healing process.

BASIC CARE FOR OILY
SKIN This type of skin secretes a lot of fat. Therefore, it must be degreased in a gentle way and at the same time given a sufficient amount of moisture.

Use a gel wash and a facial brush in the morning and evening.
Your skin produces a lot of oil day and night. Be sure to remove excess oil before applying the nourishing cream. Lather the gel in your palms and spread the foam on your face. For oily skin, massage with a face brush with very soft bristles is beneficial. If you rub the gel into the skin with it for about two minutes in a circular motion with gentle pressure, you can deeply cleanse the pores of the skin.

Eau
de toilette with alcohol content If you have oily and inflamed skin, after each cleansing, blot it with eau de toilette, which contains alcohol. It disinfects the skin and prevents the appearance of new sore spots. Lotions with the addition of powder are very useful, which must be shaken before use. They can be used instead of eau de toilette. Buy lotions that contain zinc oxide and salicylic acid. Zinc oxide tightens the pores slightly and removes excess oil from the skin. Salicylic acid – an antibacterial agent – promotes quick healing of acne and makes the skin very soft.
Powder – invisible on the skin – absorbs excess oil and the skin will not shine.

Intensive exfoliation
Regular use of exfoliators (two to three times a week) can prevent clogged pores and the appearance of acne and blackheads. These products contain tiny grains or granules that cleanse the surface of the skin from dead dead cells and stimulate blood circulation.

Exfoliating products are best used in the evening after cleansing the skin. Peeling gels are especially gentle and at the same time nourishing. While tiny grains remove “dirt” from the skin, the gel gives it a lot of moisture. As a result, the skin looks especially smooth, soft and firm. Peeling products with the addition of nettle extract are very good. This anti-inflammatory agent is found inside tiny grains and is released after rubbing into the skin. The extract prevents the appearance of acne, acne and promotes their healing.

Non-fat nourishing gels
Avoid fatty creams. It is best to take a light special cream or emulsion (hydrogel) from the anti-inflammatory range of skincare products. They contain very little or no fat and a lot of moisture that every skin type needs. A special cream or emulsion is applied in the morning to cleansed skin and rubbed with fingertips. Hydrogels are gaining in popularity. They do not contain grease or oil and are ideal for oily skin. Gels with salicylic acid and birch bark extract deserve a special recommendation. Salicylic acid is antibacterial and helps to get rid of acne. Birch bark extract protects the skin from negative environmental influences, including from ultraviolet rays.

Tea tree oil A
universal remedy for inflamed skin. In the cosmetics industry, tea tree oil has recently been used, however, it is rapidly gaining fame. Clinical studies have shown that tea tree oil works just as well as powerful acne medications. The method of its use is very simple: acne and blackheads are moistened several times a day with a 5% oil solution. Almost all of them disappear completely within two to three days.

Tip After each cleansing, blot oily skin with eau de toilette. It will disinfect it and prevent acne.
