Caring for the face in the most thorough manner, we often completely forget about the body. Meanwhile, the skin of the body needs the same procedures, and with no less frequency.
Indeed, it is impossible to be a truly well-groomed woman, limiting body care to daily showers and occasional washing with a washcloth. The steps that we follow when caring for our face: daily cleansing, moisturizing, nourishment, deep cleansing and special care, must be observed when caring for the body.
Shower from the heart
It is customary to cleanse the skin of the body, as well as the face, twice a day. However, if in the case of the face we can do without water – using milk and tonic, then we cleanse the skin of the body only by “water”. It is this circumstance that makes some cosmetologists doubt the usefulness of such strict hygiene – after all, regular skin contact with hard, chlorinated water can, in their opinion, do more harm than good. On the other hand, maintaining good hygiene and regularly cleansing the skin of impurities and excess sebum is a must if you want to have good, healthy skin. To date, a compromise solution has been found – soap-free detergents, which necessarily include water softening components. Shower gels, washing creams, shower oils, special alkaline-free soaps – modern detergents neutralize the negative effects of hard water, cleanse the skin well without violating its protective barrier. Along the way, they have a wide range of caring properties: nourish, moisturize, soften, refresh, soothe. Having such drugs, you can take a shower twice a day (and, if necessary, more often) and not be afraid for your skin condition.
Delicate, smooth, elastic
For most women, such skin on the body is given by nature, so the main task is to preserve this gift as long as possible. The arsenal of products offered today by cosmetics manufacturers is so great that it is easy to achieve this – you just need to choose the right drug. Moisturizers are suitable for daily skin care without any particular problems. Nutritious – good for those with dry skin on the body, as well as for more intensive care in the cold season. Light toning gels and low-fat milk are ideal for morning “treatments” – they not only have a positive effect on the skin, but also give the feeling of vitality and freshness, which is so important at the beginning of the day. Products with deodorant ingredients for the whole day will get rid of unpleasant odors. And if the skin begins to lose its elasticity, use special products that maintain its condition. In the summer, in the morning, sunscreen should be applied to exposed areas of the body.
Clean clean
Once or twice a week, you need to carry out a deeper skin cleansing with scrubs or washcloths (preferably from natural material). Especially carefully you need to remove the layer of coarse skin on the elbows and knees. People who are prone to the formation of capillary “stars” should be careful with scrubs and choose fine-grained peels with polymer solid particles – they are less traumatic to the skin.
Special problems
Stretch marks. Most often appear during pregnancy and in case of a sharp change in weight. “Fresh” dark-colored stretch marks are best treated, especially when they are narrow. Whitened or too wide stretch marks can only be removed with laser resurfacing or surgery. Therefore, the best way to deal with stretch marks is prevention: using special remedies for stretch marks or body oils.
Pigmentation. It most commonly appears on the shoulders, forearms, neckline and upper back. Skin prone to pigmentation should be protected from the sun with creams with a high SPF index (at least 15) and bleaching creams should be periodically applied to the “risk areas”. Individual age spots can be removed with lightening masks and special intensive preparations, as well as peeling with fruit acids in combination with dermabrasion.
Pimples. Most often, they “love” the shoulders, back, buttocks, and often the décolleté. Removing them from here is no easier than from the face, and, as a rule, the skin on the buttocks creates special problems. You can try to prevent the appearance of pimples: avoid wearing synthetic clothes and underwear, carefully observe personal hygiene, periodically use aseptic preparations (lotions, foams), and fight with rashes that have already appeared with the help of special means (the same ones that are used for the face are suitable).
Capillary “stars”. Unfortunately, people prone to this misfortune rarely manage to avoid the appearance of such “decorations”, but you can at least try to reduce their number with the help of special preparations containing vitamins K, P, E and C, horse chestnut extract or ginkgo biloba, etc. … Already appeared “stars” can be removed by electro-electrocoagulation or laser therapy. Sometimes you have to do it surgically.
Geography of care
The skin on the body is heterogeneous: each of its parts has its own characteristics and requires a special approach to itself.
Decollete. In this area, the skin is thin and quite sensitive, prone to premature aging. Here, earlier
than in other parts of the body, flabbiness appears, wrinkles and age spots form. Regular care is required using moisturizers and nourishing creams, as well as products that maintain skin elasticity.
Shoulders and back. Usually these are the fattest areas on the body: the skin here is most often thick and prone to the formation of pimples. This area needs to be thoroughly cleaned, but do not be too zealous with a washcloth: this can strengthen the work of the sebaceous glands, making the skin even more oily.
Chest. A very delicate area that requires regular care, including with the help of special products. The skin here is easily prone to stretching, so regular bra wearing is advisable: this will help to keep the chest in good shape, prevent the loss of elasticity and the appearance of stretch marks. Please note that improper bra selection and constant wearing of synthetic underwear can worsen the condition of the skin.
Hands. The skin in this area is usually dense and does not pose any particular problems, however, in the upper part it is prone to flabbiness and is often affected by cellulite, and age spots often form in the forearm area: you need to protect it from the sun. Hands require constant use of protective and emollient products, as well as regular visits to the nail salon.
Stomach. The skin in this area is thin, prone to the formation of flabby patches and stretch marks. To prevent their early appearance, avoid sudden changes in weight, and also take good care of your abdominal skin during pregnancy.
Hips. There are two main problems here: firstly, all the same stretch marks, the main reason for the formation of which is significant “changes” in weight, and, secondly, cellulite. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically use special anti-cellulite products.
Regular care of this area during pregnancy and diet is also important.
Buttocks. Because of the constant contact with clothing, the skin is often rough here, so do not forget to often apply an emollient or nourishing cream to this area. (This is especially important for those who prefer thong panties). Buttocks are also prone to cellulite and the formation of small red pimples, which can be very difficult to cope with.
Legs. The skin in the upper part of them is quite delicate, prone to stretch marks, especially on the inside. This area is especially “loved” by cellulite. Here capillaries often burst and vascular “stars” appear. The lower legs are very often extremely dry, and moisturizing preparations must be regularly applied to this area. Good condition of the skin of the feet is ensured by regular visits to the pedicure room, the use of special care products and, of course, comfortable shoes.
Elbows and knees. The skin in this area is quite rough, prone to the formation of callosity, so do not forget to regularly lubricate it with emollient cream.
Many of us prefer the bath to the soul. Indeed, a rare woman will not enjoy basking in warm water in the clouds of fragrant foam! Most experts recognize the positive effect of the bath on the body as a whole, but they advise you to remember that it is not so useful for the skin, since it has a draining effect. This is especially true for baths with our favorite foam: after all, foam almost always creates an alkaline environment. If for you a bath at least once a day is a vital necessity, take care of special products that protect the skin from drying out.
